The Research Services Department supports sustainable research data management (RDM) with a wide range of services—from the application phase of research projects to the publication and archiving of research data.

re3data (Registry of Research Data Repositories) is a global, cross-disciplinary registry for research data repositories and provides detailed information about research data infrastructures. You will support the re3data team in the following areas:

  • Identification and curation of research data repositories
  • Analysis and assessment of the needs of the repository and RDM landscape
  • Further development of the metadata schema and alignment with RDM standards
  • Guidance for repository operators and scientific organizations, as well as communication and outreach within relevant academic groups and communities
  • Creation of reports with a focus on repositories
  • Design of workflows and interfaces for (partial) automation of data registration, updates, and quality assurance
  • Technical implementation of processes and interfaces in the web application (Linux, Apache, Postgres, PHP, ElasticSearch) in close collaboration with the IT department
  • Integration of external systems and maintenance of interfaces and technical documentation
  • Training and advising researchers at KIT on research data repositories
