Helmholtz Imaging Week 2026

Helmholtz Imaging Week 2026 is coming to Leipzig from November 9–12, 2026, bringing together the imaging community for an extended program of scientific exchange, collaboration, and inspiration.

The Conference: Connecting the Imaging Community

At the heart of Imaging Week is the Helmholtz Imaging Conference 2026 on November 10-12, our central event and key meeting point for researchers and imaging experts from across disciplines, who develop or apply imaging methods. Building on its success, the conference will once again offer a vibrant platform to present research, share ideas, and connect with peers working in the field of imaging and with image data. Over three days, participants can look forward to:

• Inspiring keynote talks
• Engaging discussions across disciplines
• Insightful scientific presentations
• Poster pitches and interactive sessions
• Opportunities to expand professional networks

Participants are invited to actively contribute to the program by submitting their work as a scientific talk, poster, or as part of the interactive unconference session BYOIC – Bring Your Own Imaging Challenge! This unique format encourages the community to bring forward real-world challenges and collaboratively develop solutions.

New in 2026: Imaging Deep Dive Day

Kicking off the week, the Imaging Deep Dive Day (IDDD) on November 10 introduces a new interactive format designed to complement the conference.

This half-day program features hands-on, participant-driven workshops that allow for in-depth exploration of emerging topics in imaging. Organized and led by members of the community, these sessions create space for focused exchange, practical learning, and collaboration in smaller groups.

Planned workshops include topics such as:

• OMERO.figure: Learn how to create quality figures from your OMERO images
• How Generative AI impacts Image Data Science
• Final project meeting UNLOCK benchmarking
• And more.

A Week Designed for Collaboration

By combining the conference with the Imaging Deep Dive Day, Helmholtz Imaging Week creates a cohesive and enriched experience, balancing broad scientific exchange with opportunities for deeper engagement.

In addition, the week will host the Scientific Advisory Committee Meeting (by invitation only), contributing to the strategic development of Helmholtz Imaging.
