From June 3 to 5, 2025, Helmholtz AI hosted the Helmholtz AI Conference – HAICON 25 – in Karlsruhe. With a diverse program of keynotes, talks, and community sessions, the event brought together AI practitioners and researchers from across the Helmholtz Association.

Helmholtz Imaging contributed to the unconference day on June 2 with two dedicated sessions. In one, Philipp Heuser, Engin Eren, and Hans Werners presented the Helmholtz Model Zoo for the first time, an open tool for AI model sharing and inference in the Helmholtz Cloud. In another session, Dasha Trofimova led a tutorial on “Guided Evaluation of Adaptation Strategies,” demonstrating interactive approaches to understanding and evaluating vision foundation models.

Throughout the conference, we were present with a booth to showcase our support services for the Helmholtz research community. We had the opportunity to discuss current challenges in imaging and AI and to engage with colleagues from across the disciplines. It was also great to see our partner platforms on-site: Helmholtz AI, who hosted the event, as well as HIDA, HIFIS and HMC, demonstrating the strength and interconnectedness of the Helmholtz information and data science ecosystem and its shared commitment to advancing research.

Thank you to everyone who visited us! We look forward to reconnecting at one of our future events, and maybe continuing the conversation soon at the Helmholtz Imaging Conference in Potsdam from June 25 to 27, 2025.
