The new call for Best Scientific Image 2023 is open. Submit your scientific image(s) by 15 March 2023 for a chance to win Helmholtz Imaging Best Scientific Image 2023!
The image competitions in 2021 and 2022 have been a great success, and the winning images travelled Germany to showcase the outstanding portfolio of the Helmholtz Association in imaging and the contribution of imaging science in solving major societal challenges.
Images submitted for competition can be
An appealing, comprehensible explanation must be submitted with the image, providing background information on the scientific nature, remarkableness and origin of the image.
The contest is open to anyone who works at a Helmholtz Center.
An international jury will award prizes worth 6000€ donated by Siemens Healthineers, Zeiss Microscopy and Beiersdorf. Awarding is based on scientific significance, originality, and artistic and/or visual impact of the image.
The winning images will be displayed at the Helmholtz Imaging Conference 2023 (14-16 June 2023) and made available to the public and the media as well as to scientific institutions. In addition, 12 winning images will be published in the Helmholtz Imaging calendar 2024 and 20 of the best images will be part of a travelling exhibition and being displayed in different Helmholtz Centers and beyond.

The awarding ceremony is planned for the Helmholtz Imaging Conference 2023 on 14-16 June in Hamburg. Save the date, register and be there!
